In this work the deformation analysis of a flexible cable is considered in detail. Nonlinear finite element analysis is used for solving the problem. In deriving the final form of equations, geometrically nonlinear analysis is used and validity of simple Hooke’s law is assumed. The resulting nonlinear algebraic equations are solved by using simple iteration method. Numerical examples are considered.
