This paper presents the developed Adaptive frequency islanding system for distributed generation energy districts. The research is initiated due to the changes of power system structure, increasing the share of distributed generation. At the same time the existing islanding systems have a number of disadvantages, which leads to generation-shedding of distributed generation objects while allocating them for isolated operation. This is primarily due to the low speed of existing islanding systems. The solution to this problem can be an Adaptive frequency islanding system, which is high-speed and evens out the power balance in the distributed generation energy districts at the time of its allocation to isolated operation. The operating principle of this system is to determine the amount of control actions and their issuance at the substation of distributed generation energy districts based on the assessment of the electric power system mode and energy district real-time parameters.
