Conference organizers assigned at least two reviewers for each paper. Reviewers could reject or accept the invitation to peer-review a paper. If the invitation was accepted, reviewers were obliged to provide peer-review comments within 10 days. Peer-reviewers had three options: reject the article; accept the article; send comments to authors to edit the paper. If an article was poor and did not satisfy the requirements in the call for papers, peer-reviewers rejected that. If the article was good enough, peer-reviewers could accept the article without changes. The most popular option chosen by peer-reviewers was the one where they send comments to authors. Authors were obliged to edit the paper according to the comments within 10 days. Once authors submitted the edited files, editors checked if all changes were addressed. If so, the article was sent to a reviewer to approve the changes. If reviewers agreed with the changes, the article was considered as accepted for IFOST2019. If editors did not see that the article was changed according to the reviewers’ comments, they sent the paper back to authors with a requirement to edit the paper.
