The article identifies the main problems and trends in mechanical engineering in order to increase the competitiveness of its products by innovative type, discloses the nature of modern discussions on the enterprises’ technical development methods in the digital economy, proposes the strategic directions for industrial innovative development, which contribute to improving management efficiency of the machine-building complex.
