Calculation of the temperature dependence of the activation energy of the glass transition process U(T) of amorphous organic polymers and inorganic glasses with the use of the Williams-Landel-Ferry equation for the relaxation time (viscosity) is proposed. The estimates made are in satisfactory agreement with experiment. The nature of the U(T) dependence is discussed.
