In this paper, two types of flexible heating elements are considered, which can be used as heat sources in the fight against soil freezing to the working bodies of earth-moving machines. Heating cable TM-60 is designed for heating concrete and in the refrigeration industry. It can be operated at temperatures from -60 to +200 degrees. LUNG heating tape is designed for heating pipelines and technological equipment. It can be operated at temperatures from -60 to +200 degrees. An experimental study was carried out to determine the shear stress using these heat sources. Regression models are obtained and response surfaces are constructed for the interaction of variable factors for each heater. One-factor dependencies were revealed and graphical dependencies were built. A comparative analysis of the effectiveness of using the LUNG tape and the TM-60 cable has been carried out.
