The hydrographic network of the steppe region located at the junction of the borders of Russia, Mongolia and China is characterized. The situation related to the diversion of the flow of the Argun (Hailar) river to the Lake Dalainor (Hulun) and other water management measures is considered. We estimated the probable time of filling of Lake Dalainor. Other water management risks in this region are characterized.
