The ecological state in the Southern Urals has not improved in recent years. The more industrial enterprises are located in the region, the more the natural habitat suffers. It should be recognized that it will be difficult for the region without stable production facilities. In fact, industrial enterprises provide a significant share of jobs and fill the regional budget to a greater extent. This article is devoted to the problems of removal of industrial facilities from the residential zone of the city. The analysis of the main problems of removal of industrial facilities is carried out. The variants of a land plot for the placement of a machine-building plant are considered.
