
Estimation of the water quality of the Izhevsk Reservoir tributaries by macrozoobenthos indicators

The species composition and quantitative indicators of macrozoobenthos of the main tributaries of the Izhevsk Reservoir were studied. The status of the rivers was assessed by bioindication methods. A significant simplification of the structure of the benthic communities in the lower reaches of the Luk and Podborenka rivers has been established. The Podborenka River is the most polluted of the tributaries of the Izhevsk Reservoir, and therefore, it is an important source of the deterioration of water quality in there.
