Multi-hole blasting is often used for tunneling, however, blasting can damage the surrounding rock. To study the effect of blasting on surrounding rock and the damage caused, this paper presents an equivalent load method and a damage constitutive model of surrounding rock, based on earlier works and existing literature. A numerical simulation method is adopted to predict the most vulnerable part of the surrounding rock in the tunnel under blasting load. The research results have certain guiding significance for tunnel construction.
