China has abundant solar energy resources and a huge market prospect. Tower-type solar power generation technology has high solar energy conversion rate and great room for improvement in power generation efficiency, so it is widely used in power stations. This paper analyzed the characteristics and status quo of various tower-type photothermal generation technologies, found that the tower-type molten salt power generation technology is an excellent power generation technology, and analyzed the characteristics and potential risks of this technology. The research results can provide references for research on tower-type solar power generation technology.
