Micropile has the advantages of flexible pile arrangement, small construction area, strong applicability to soil, convenient and fast construction, etc. Therefore, it has been widely used in many fields of geotechnical engineering in recent years. The unique advantages of the micropile gradually emerged in some special occasions. Based on the collection of domestic and foreign literatures, this article makes a more comprehensive summary and introduction of the concept, characteristics, materials, classification and application development history of micropiles. The work of this article will provide a theoretical basis for the theoretical research and engineering application related to the micropile technology.
