Preface

It is a great pleasure to welcome you to this 1st International Conference on Innovative Research in Renewable Energy Technologies (IRRET-2021), held on 25 th -27 th February, 2021 in IMPS College of Engineering and Technology, Malda, West Bengal, India. However, due to the Covid-19 pandemic situation, the forum is moving to an online conference format, managed by IMPS College of Engineering and Technology. We decided to continue the conference instead of postponed with the online platform through the Google Meet. The major areas of this conference focus on the latest development in Renewable Energy and application. We have received 32 articles for publication in the IOP Conference Series and after peer-reviewed only 18 papers had been accepted for publication. We express our sincere appreciation to all participants, all co-hosts, all committees, and all sponsorships who had spent their time, effort, and help on planning, promoting, and organizing the conference. Special thanks to IOP Publishing for their sincere help. Why the meeting was virtual instead of being postponed: Since the announcement of the conference was taking place in August 2020. Postponed of the conference demoralised the researchers as they already submit their work to the conference. Further, the postponement of the conference adversely affects the research community as the research work reaches them with delay. Such delay also affects the ongoing work of the research community. Considering these aspects, the conference was conducted as per schedule through virtual mode instead of being postponed. Virtual Conference Dates: 25th – 27th February, 2021 Location of organizers: IMPS College of Engineering and Technology, Malda, West Bengal, India Conference model: Information on plenary sessions. Amount of time that authors/presenters were given to talk: Nine sessions/track were arranged during three. Each session/track focused on a particular theme. Authors are given 10 minutes time for presentation followed by 5 minutes of Question and Answer. Two session chairs along with the moderator manage the Question and Answer session. Information on discussions and Q&A sessions: Authors are given 10 minutes time for presentation followed by 5 minutes Q and A. A session chair and co-chair along with the moderator manage the Q and A session. Location of participants and overall participant numbers: Prominent institutes like Jadavpur University, NEHU, NITs, and other central, state and deemed universities across India and the world. More than 200 Participant attend the conference. Technology that was used to deliver the conference: Google Meet Any reports on overall technical quality and success of delivery of the conference: This three-day conference was a big success with lot of information shared through this platform. The participants thanked the organizers for knowledge transfer that took place during the two days of the event.
