With the introduction of the circular economy and the goal setting of the Paris Agreement, greenhouse gas emission reduction is facing huge challenges. The recycling of waste plastics is closely related to the reduction of greenhouse gas emissions. The input-output model was used to quantify the relationship between the development of China’s plastic recycling industry and the reduction of greenhouse gas emissions, and relevant recommendations were made.
