The article proposes a method for determining the energy parameters of a machine-tractor unit to increase the efficiency of using the SUTB (shifted-up and throttled-back) technology for stepped transmissions of agricultural tractors. The theoretical substantiation of the new method and the results of practical testing in real field conditions are presented.
