This article describes the sealing mechanism of API casing thread connection and premium casing thread connection, and determines that the main macro factors affecting the sealing performance of premium thread connection are surface quality, contact pressure and contact width of sealing surface. The influence law of these three factors on sealing performance is discussed. The analysis results in this paper can provide the theoretical ground for improving the sealing performance of premium thread connection.
