The reconstruction and expansion of expressways is an important means, and how to control the settlement deformation of the subgrade width is an urgent problem to be solved. Step splicing is an effective means to control settlement. Therefore, it is very important to study the size of the steps. Expansion is based on engineering. Through literature research, numerical simulation and other research methods, combined with theoretical knowledge of soil mechanics, the settlement control of widened roadbed in highway reconstruction and expansion is studied, and the following conclusions are obtained: (1) Three different types are studied. The deformation law of subgrade and foundation top surface of step size; (2) A combined subgrade step excavation method is proposed, which provides a reference for similar projects. (3) The method of excavation and splicing of combined subgrade steps was verified, and the correctness of combined subgrade excavation and splicing was verified.
