Accidents related with operation of mining equipment is a serious problem in the extractive industries. The accidents can result in damage and downtime of machinery, or even can lead to injuries and fatalities. These problems seem to become more acute in the modern conditions of Industry 4.0 implementation. This paper focuses on applicability of a multifunctional safety system in opencast coal mining, with regard to features of this method and using digital technologies. The authors emphasize essentiality of a business-model of opencast coal mining to reach the wanted results. The first section in your paper.
