This study aims to analyze the landform of South Java mountainous and folded mountains in northern Java based on the depositional environment context. The method used in this study is a survey. The research locations for the mountains of southern Java include Kebumen, Gunungkidul , and Wonosari regions. The research location in the northern mountains of Java includes the regions of Sragen and Grobogan. The results showed a difference in depositional environment between the two landforms. The southern Java mountains are formed in continental depositional environments, while the northern Java mountains are formed in the transition depositional environment and shallow marine depositional environment.
