In the article, the author examines some of the issues of improper land use. In the modern Russian state, the problem of misuse, mismanagement and irrational use of lands of various categories is one of the urgent problems, since it leads to the loss of useful properties of land use and especially valuable categories of land. A particularly valuable category of land includes agricultural land, the number of which is constantly decreasing. At the same time, the most urgent problem is the choice of effective and targeted forms of agricultural land use as a special environmental object. An urgent problem is the problem of applying effective forms of land use in the production and economic activities of economic entities. This problem is not only national, but also international. It is necessary to analyze the norms of the current legislation in order to highlight the main problems and possible forms aimed at the targeted use of land.
