Plowing up of soils, as the most common type of degradation, is expressed in a specific deterioration in the structure of the soil and an increase in its density. Therefore, it is necessary to assess the degree of plowing S of various types of soils of the Stavropol Territory, based on a number of agrophysical indicators: density (d, g/cm 3 ), hardness (T, g/cm 2 ) and soil structure (content of aggregates> 10 mm, C, %), s the purpose of developing recommendations for the introduction of specific systems of basic cultivation for crops of crop rotation on a specific type of soil. Calculations of the degree of plowing showed that on highly plowed solonetzic chernozems with a value of S = 0.99, deep moldboard-free loosening up to 30 cm is recommended. wheat, moldboard or non-moldboard tillage 25–27 cm for row crops, shallow tillage for ear crops after fallow fallows and legumes. On poorly plowed southern chernozems, light-dark and chestnut soils (S = 0.76 - 0.66), a minimization system with shallow basic tillage and periodic moldboard or non-moldboard tillage at the end of short rotation crop rotations is acceptable.
