In recent years, as the construction industry shifts from the construction of new buildings to the maintenance and use of existing buildings, the demand for creating Building Information Modeling(BIM) has continued to grow. This article summarizes various research work in different fields and gives an overview. This paper introduces the current research status of creating As-is BIM, then summarizes the corresponding algorithms and data processing methods for creating As-is BIM using 3D reconstruction technology; finally, the detailed research progress and the existing research results and knowledge gaps are discussed, and potential future development opportunities are proposed.
