In order to study the bearing capacity of flap gate under impact load, this paper uses the finite element calculation model to calculate the bending and shear resistance of the buttress of the flap gate under the design model, and designs the reinforcement amount of the section to study the bearing capacity of the flap gate under the impact load. The research result shows that the impact load controls the bearing capacity of the pier section, and the reduction of impact load can effectively alleviate the stress concentration at the corner of the pier. It is necessary to reconfigure the appropriate tension and compression reinforcement, but the stirrup and diagonal reinforcement do not need to be reconfigured.
