The article presents the investigation of thermal destruction of wood (pine), brown coal, oil sludge, and bitumen of BND 90/130 grade by the method of differential scanning calorimetry. A thermal analysis of the samples was accomplished in an oxidizing environment (air). The stages of the thermal decomposition under the conditions of programmed heating from 40°C to 600°C at a rate of 20°C /min, their temperature ranges, and maximum temperatures on the DSC curves have been established. The thermal effects of the evaporation of bound moisture and the process of thermal decomposition of the fuel have been determined.
