This paper presents differentiates between new consumption formats. It also analyzes information platforms and collaborative consumption services. It is proved that the emergence of new consumption formats is both a consequence of economic science evolution and a reaction to the failures of the traditional economic system. The authorial list of structural changes determinants in the economy is defined. Some forecasts for collaborative consumption economy development are given. Modern economic reality allows us to conclude that the transformation has begun and there is a fundamental revision of the economic science foundations and the modern economy model, the search for a new, alternative economic development model based on the study of needs formation, development and satisfaction. There is a clearer relationship between the change in technology and changes in the structure of economic entities needs and consumption patterns. It is concluded that the extent of the sharing economy depends on the socio-demographic structure of the population.
