In this work, a novel Fe-Mn composite (PR) was prepared and used to efficient remove Cr(VI) from aqueous solution. SEM analysis shows the obvious surface structure change after Cr(VI) treatment. The PR composite has a wide pH range of application. Moreover, the pseudo-second-order model and Langmuir isotherm model described well with the experimental data. The maximum adsorption capacity was 36.64 mg/g (pH = 6, 30 °C). Both humic acids and ionic strength did not have significant effect on Cr(VI) removal by PR composite. Therefore, PR composite could be a potential adsorbent for the remediation of Cr(VI) containing wastewater.
