A new molybdenum 2-aminopyridine complex (C 5 H 7 N 2 ) 2 (Mo 7 O 24 )(H 2 O) 4 is prepared by a hydrothermal reaction and the crystal structure has been determined by means of single-crystal X-ray diffraction. The Mo atom is coordinated by six O atoms. The crystal packing is stabilized by O-H…O and O-H…N hydrogen bonding interaction.
