Aiming at the problem of how to effectively configure distributed generation (DG) in the distribution network, an optimization configuration model of DG with the lowest total system operating cost as the objective function, system power flow, node voltage, branch current and distributed power capacity as constraints is established. In this paper, a new technique based on the sparrow search algorithm (SSA), is used to solve the optimal configuration model of DG for the first time. Finally, the IEEE 33 distribution system is used as an example to perform simulation, which verifies the rationality of the optimal configuration model and the effectiveness and superiority of the SSA, which can more efficiently solve the problem about optimal configuration of DG.
