Food security of the state, in accordance with agrarian policy and the Federal Law of the Russian Federation “On development of agriculture”, is aimed at providing the population with safe agricultural products. To ensure food security it is necessary to develop the agricultural industry, which in its turn is impossible without the development of the agricultural machine building industry as the basis for successful agricultural production. The coulter unit for multi-degree fertilization and seed sowing is presented. The forces acting on the coulter from the soil have been determined and analyzed. Theoretical calculations of the coulter draft resistance are presented, based on which the rational parameters of the proposed working body are determined.
