Under the background of rapid urbanization, a series of problems have arisen in some areas, such as the shortage of land resources, the backwardness of landscape construction and the decline of urban vitality. As the basic water conservancy facilities of the city, the transformation of the urban canal can effectively promote the intensive use of urban land and urban ecological environment, and improve the vitality of urban public space. This paper first summarizes the main theories and practices of landscape urbanism through literature review, and emphasizes the importance of “landscape infrastructure” in the strategic level. Finally, the strategies and methods of Landscape Urbanism in urban canal renewal are discussed based on the case of open channel renewal.
