All papers published in this volume of IOP Conference Series: Earth and Environmental Science have been peer reviewed through processes administered by the Editors. Reviews were conducted by expert referees to the professional and scientific standards expected of a proceedings journal published by IOP Publishing. • Type of peer review: Double-blind. All articles (168) had not been sent to the reviewers when they were submitted, and the review process had been completed in 2 rounds. In the 1 st round, the articles were evaluated by means of their originality and suitability. These selected 133 articles were taken under consideration and sent to the reviewers . • Conference submission management system: On-line submission system of WMESS was used for the submission of the articles. However, the review process was managed by sending the articles to the reviewers by e-mail accounts of the editorial office (editor@mess-earth.org).
