This proceedings consists of the peer-reviewed papers from the 1 st International Conference on Sustainable Energy Solutions for a Better Tomorrow (SESBT 2020), which was organized by the School of Mechanical Engineering at Vellore Institute of Technology, Chennai on July 23 rd and 24 th , 2020. However, due to the COVID 19 pandemic the conference was held Online. The main objective of SESBT 2020 is to provide a platform for researchers and practitioners from both academic institutions and industries to meet and share cutting-edge developments in the areas of sustainable energy and associated disciplines. This conference also provided an opportunity to exchange research evidence and innovative ideas and also the issues related to sustainable energy. This proceeding will include presentations on the latest research areas such as Carbon Neutrality, Energy Storage, Green Buildings and Renewable Energy. This conference had gathered an excellent group of keynote speakers from around the globe on different topics such as Solar Photo Catalysis - Promising Solutions to Achieve Sustainable Energy, Dynamic Assemblies: Building Resilience through Digital Design and Fabrication, Biogas based Bio Refineries for a Circular Economy, A New Research Path for Future Sustainable and Efficient Latent Thermal Energy Storages, The UN SDGs, Sectoral Energy and Emissions Targets in a Uncertain Global Context, Energy from Waste, Carbon Neutrality, Carbon Trading and its Impact on Climate Change, Sustainable Ammonia Removal from Waste Waters by Anaerobic/Anoxic Biological Processes, Renewable Energy - With Special Focus on Hydrogen and Biogas, Porous Media Micro Burner at Rich Fuel Combustion; Analysis of Exergy and Entropy Generation, Geothermal Energy and Carbon Sequestration, Bioenergy for Rural Residues and Urban Waste-Science, Technology and Implementation Challenges, Comparison of Wave Energy Resources between Scotland and Chennai and Development of an Innovative Submerged Wave Energy Device based on Pressure Differential.
