To clearly understand the ecological status and future sustainable development of Luzhou City, based on the ecological footprint model, this paper quantitatively studies the sustainability of Luzhou city’s development in 2006-2016, and forecasts the sustainable status of Luzhou City in 2017-2026 by using the grey system prediction model. The results showed that Luzhou city was in the state of ecological deficit from 2006 to 2016, but showed a decreasing trend year by year. Luzhou city’s ecological economy is in a weak and unsustainable state, and the structure and function of the ecological economic system are being optimized and adjusted. Therefore, to realize the sustainable development of Luzhou ecological economy, it is necessary to adjust the industrial structure, reduce energy consumption and promote the sustainable development of the region.
