In order to solve the problem of the failure phenomenon of roof fall and the inward extrusion of two roadsides in main roadway of 31205 working face of Zhubai coal mine, the theoretical analysis, field measurement and numerical simulation were adopted to study the rock breakage and instability of roadway’s and put forward the differential anchor cable and bolt targeted support solution. Industrial tests and the roadway pressure observation were carried out in 31205 main roadway. The field application results showed that the deformation and break of roadway surrounding rock is effectively controlled, the supporting cost was reduced and the supporting effect was remarkable.
