Based on the qingyijiang bridge of ya’an-kangding expressway in Sichuan province, the influence of high damping rubber bearing on the seismic performance of the bridge is analyzed from the aspects of structural natural vibration period, internal force at the bottom of the pier, displacement at the top of the pier, displacement at the end of the beam and shear displacement of the bearing. The results are compared with those of ordinary rubber bearing. Some suggestions are put forward for its applicability on conventional highway bridges.
