We are pleased to publish 102 papers presented at the Sustainable Built Environment Temuco 2019 (SBE19 Temuco) Conference, organized by the Faculty of Architecture, Arts and Design at the Catholic University of Temuco in collaboration with the International Initiative for the Sustainable Environment (iiSBE), CIB, FIDIC and UN Environment. The topic of the Conference was “Urban Planning, Global Problems, and Local Policies” and it took place at the San Juan Pablo II Campus of the Catholic University of Temuco in the city of Temuco, Chile, from October 16 th to 18 th , as part of the 2019 regional SBE Conferences organized all around the world. The papers presented at the Conference were selected on the basis of academic meritocracy adopting a double-blind peer review process and editorial assessment. Papers were grouped into six themes, with the corresponding number of the papers on each theme: 1. A Sustainable Approach to Landscape and Infrastructure: 14 papers. 2. Circular Economy and Resource Management: 18 papers. 3. Climate Change and the Built Environment: 16 papers. 4. Cultural Sustainability: 17 papers. 5. Environmentally Efficient Building Materials and Products: 18 papers. 6. Public Spaces and Quality of Life: 19 papers. The Editors uphold, to the best of their efforts, the quality of the papers to meet the standard of the International Proceedings. By this exertion, the papers are expected to have great impact on research and practices in the fields of sustainability, sustainable construction, new building materials, education, responsible cultural practices, city planning, among other topics. Likewise, we expect these results to be relevant for Chile, the whole Latin American region, and the rest of the world.
