The paper introduces the background and development of urban underground space of Shanghai as a necessity, discusses its present situation in Shanghai, proposes the overall strategy and measure underlying the layout characteristics, and points out the existing problems in the process. Finally, the paper comes up with three suggestions for further improvement.
