This paper introduced the research process of the static tests and the dynamic simulation tests for the circulating cooling water witch used in a power plant. The appropriate scale inhibitor and the dosage were screened based on static tests (limited carbonate hardness test, pHc test, corrosion inhibition test, etc.), then the dynamic simulation test was used to simulate the practical system operation conditions, investigated the effect of scale inhibitor. The operating parameters obtained from the study are beneficial to water conservation, reduce the corrosion and scaling of the circulating water system, and have directive significance for the safe and economic operation and sustainable development for the power plant.
