The article is devoted to the simulation of two-phase filtration processes to estimate the areas of by-passed oil. A number of reasons are listed for which it is necessary to estimate in advance the zones of their formation in order to choose the optimal development mode to produce more oil. There are various methods for predicting the formation of by-passed oil, they are based, as a rule, on experimental studies, including geophysical well logging. However, the models used at the moment do not allow to determine unambiguously the areas of appearance of by-passed oil. Therefore, the purpose of the this article is to obtain suitable method. The basic system of mechanics of multiphase systems and an explicit finite-difference scheme are used to achieve this goal. The proposed method can be applied to the calculation for different reservoirs with the change of corresponding parameters, initial and boundary conditions. Using the proposed model, it is shown that the presence of two distant from each other well groups leads to the formation of two areas where oil filtration occurs and two significant zones of by-passed oil. Thus, as a result of the calculations, information about the location of by-passed oil in the reservoir under these conditions is obtained. This allows to choose the most rational method of development, and therefore to produce more oil.
