The ecological state of the small rivers basins determines water and hydrochemical regime of larger rivers and groundwater deposits. The necessary measures for a small river condition improving are identified on the assessment of ecological status of its headwater. Spatial ecological diagnostics of the small Alma River basin was conducted. Critical environmental situation in the basin’s piedmont was revealed. This territory is located in the gathering artesian basin and creates a potential environmental hazard for ground waters.
