In this paper, the authors constructed a simulation model that allows economic assessment of environmental damage. Using the example of sulfide-bearing wastes from a mining and processing plant in the Kemerovo region, the total damage caused to water and land natural resources in 2018 was calculated. 659.7 million rubles. This damage amounted to 659.7 million rubles. The authors also made a forecast estimate, according to which the environmental damage in 2030 will amount to 950 million rubles. This forecast can be realized in case of failure to take any measures to eliminate or reduce the negative impact on the environment.
