Health risk described relationship between water quality and body health quantitatively. In this paper, health risk assessment model based on close degree of modified interval number was developed aiming to solve the uncertainty problem that parameters in health risk assessment were almost expressed as interval numbers. The model was applied to two surface water sources to assess and compare their health risks. The results indicated that the risks of two water sources were all at level III, and the health risk of water source 2 was higher than water source 1. This model could utilize the uncertain information of parameters sufficiently to acquire reliable and objective results.
