Preface

Welcome speech by the Chairman of ICTS 2019 On behalf of the organizing committee, welcome to all participants to the International Conference on Tropical Silviculture 2019 in IPB International Conference, Bogor, Indonesia. This International conference is involving about 200 participants from Indonesia, Malaysia, South Korea, Japan, US, Germany, and Australia. The conference results in 71 papers which covers 7 themes, namely Biodiversity, Forest Fire and Climate Change, Non-Timber Forest Product, Agroforestry and Forest Plantation, Un-even Age Silviculture, Ecosystem Services, and Forest Degradation and Rehabilitation. The papers are an effort to disseminate the results of research and innovation in the scope of tropical silviculture for sustainable forest development, and to empower and enhance the role of Indonesian silviculturists in the development of research, innovation and forest management policies in Indonesia. We would like to thank all committee members of the Department of Silviculture, Faculty of Forestry, IPB University for all of their extraordinary hard work and commitment for the success of this conference, as well as all authors for their efforts in preparing their papers. A great appreciation is also given to the reviewers for their assistance in reviewing the manuscripts.
