The building sector is one of the most important commercial activities all over the world, being one of the main producers of Greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions. In the current investigation an evaluation of the emanation of Carbon Dioxide equivalent (CO 2 e) was performed to different of typical buildings in Ambato city, Ecuador. It was applied the GHG Protocol and ISO 14064-1 standards for companies and organizations. The GHG emissions calculation was based on the most representative work volumes of typical buildings of this Andean city, and its corresponding emission factor. The results show that structure type III emits more CO 2 because more structural steel, concrete and clear glass are used in its construction due to its architectural and structural design.
