Traditional preparation process of carbon blocks is relatively high-cost and time-cons uming. Hence natural flake graphite (500nm) and mesophase pitch with high charyield were used as filler and binder respectively to solve this problem. In this research, by controlling the molding pressure, the highest temperature of calcination and the content of different additives separately, the properties of the obtained carbon blocks were investigated. SEM,mechanical and electrical tests were carried out to investigate the phase composition and microstructure of the samples. The results showed that the properties of carbon blocks could be improved.
