The article is devoted to assessing the impact of competitive interactions of economic agents on the regulation of the development of food markets. Consideration of the problems of the formation and food market development in terms of competitive relations provides a theoretical and methodological basis for improving the interaction mechanisms between economic agents in order to achieve the desired quality of the population life and sustainable development of the territory, and its goals can be interpreted not only from the point of balancing view the use of natural resources, scientific and technological development, personal development in order to strengthen the capacity to satisfy human needs in terms of preventing threats to future development.
