In this paper, the existing problems and optimization principles of the current smart city construction management evaluation indicator system in China are analyzed. The evaluation indicator system is selected for two rounds based on the membership and utility and constructed systematically. The distribution of weight of smart city construction management evaluation indicators in China is obtained based on empirical investigation of the government officials, experts, scholars and the public participating in the evaluation from different typical regions in eastern, central, and western China by means of surveys and questionnaire investigations. Finally, the existing problems of the evaluation indicator system are analyzed and the optimization path is proposed.
