We remind basic inverse probelsm in semiconductor theory and outline use of an adjoint equation and a proof of uniqueness of piecewise constant doping pro¯le. For the inverse conductivity problem we give a ¯rst uniqueness proof when the Dirichlet-to-Neumann map is given at an arbitrarily small part of the boundary of a three-dimensional domain
