The cross section for top quark pair production is measured in proton-protoncollisions at $\sqrt{s} = 8$ TeV in a data sample corresponding to 2.4 fb1 of integrated luminositycollected by the CMS experiment in 2012. The measurement is performed with events withtwo leptons (electrons or muons), as well as with identied b-quark jets in the nal state. Thecombined measured cross section is tt = 227 3 (stat.) 11 (syst.) 10 (lumi.) pb, inagreement with theoretical predictions
