A new interference suppression algorithm based on the spatial and temporal characteristics of ocean surface current data has been proposed in this paper. A three days’ ocean surface currents measured by two High Frequency Surface Wave Radar (HFSWR) systems located at Fujian Province is used to test the validity of the algorithm. The results show that interference suppression method proposed in this paper has effectively suppressed the interference signal, after interference suppression, the shape of the current field is well kept, and the mean RMS reduction is 6.88 cm/s, the max RMS reduction is 23.26 cm/s, the mean correlation coefficient promotion is 12.82%, the max correlation coefficient promotion is 64.04%.
